Listen. Respond. Develop. Document. Build. Experience. From start to finish, our process is client-centered.
We understand each project is our client’s, not ours, so we start by checking our ego at the door. That isn’t to say we don’t push the envelope. Our enthusiasm is focused on satisfying our client’s needs, both known and unknown. We bring a broad architectural understanding, inherent curiosity and sound technical expertise, we then apply these skills to each project’s particular set of circumstances. The result is an architectural solution that truly reflects the unique needs and desires of our client, is sensitive to the site, is technically sound, and engenders pride in the community.
We utilize a full suite of up-to-date software and technology to aid in communication, design, management and marketing during our projects.

Whether it’s the Glasswood Building, the country’s first Passive House Certified retrofit of a commercial space; or the Juniper Gardens Apartments, recipient of five national “green” certifications including the USGBC’s LEED Gold for Homes certification, we are experienced with sustainable design. At Scott | Edwards Architecture we advance thoughtful, energy efficient and durable design considerations as programmatic requirements throughout the planning and design process on all of our projects. We believe saving energy and resources is not only good for the environment, it’s good business.
“People First” is the first half of our firm motto. It includes our clients, our community and our team. At Scott | Edwards Architecture we believe diversity in our staff — their backgrounds, motivations and inspirations — helps propel us towards our vision of achieving excellence in everything we design.
Our office culture is open, inclusive and collaborative. We think of ourselves as a perpetual Portland-based architectural start-up. This keeps us enthusiastic, collaborative, experimental, and fun. It also keeps our focus clear, “People First | Design Forward.” Click below to view and contact our team.
We are a close-knit family of architects, designers, creative thinkers and project managers. There are no doors in our office. The open studio layout encourages communication, collaboration and cross-pollination of ideas. This casual yet empowering environment led to S|EA recently being named one of Oregon’s Top 100 Workplaces by Oregon Business Magazine, and a Top Workplace by the Oregonian.
Currently, we do not have any specific job openings. Feel free to submit a resume and cover letter for us to keep on file, and be sure to check back often.
