The original building was part of a larger lumber mill connected to the Willamette River corridor. After multiple additions, the building became home to the Portland Furniture Mfg Co. for many years before being redeveloped in the 1970’s into today’s mixed-use center. The project consists of the renovation of the existing building with all new site work including a retail plaza, onsite parking, revamped courtyard, and landscaping. The exterior is getting a refreshed look with multiple new retail storefronts. The interior is getting a new atrium, conference center, and other amenities. The approach to the project has been to preserve and highlight the building’s historic character while giving a modern edge to attract new tenants.
