Dynamic massing and a simple material palette create an interesting and timeless building. The central element lifts to establish a connection from the front porch through common spaces and into the secluded courtyard, drawing strongly from the site and surrounding context. Shifted blocks make a massing that responds to the constraints of the site set within a residential single-family neighborhood and break down the scale of the building — all while adding a dynamic element to the architecture. Entry to the 82 units, mixed with studio, 1,2-, and 3-bedroom apartments, goes through shared common spaces, along a meandering path to a tucked-away courtyard. Within the building, amenities include a community gathering space with a communal kitchen. Simple texturally focused materials are used throughout the building to create a welcoming and warm place for residents to call home.
